Latest R & D Projects

Fuel Research Project

FOI Laboratories analyzed fuel to characterize its physical properties in order to classify and define the fuel accurately. Several batteries of tests occurred in order to provide accurate and reproducible results. Overall, the physical results, as well as the workable properties of the fuel, were defined and thus allowed to be characterized and effectively comprehended, as far as operating parameters for this fuel becoming more defined.

Fuel Additive Research Project

FOI Laboratories conducted a series of tests on #2 diesel, as well as B5 and B20 biodiesel blends. Each sample set had control batches for each type generated. From those batches, each was tested after being blended with a known amount of water that was entrained into each sample. An additive was then tested for the ability to control the entrained water. During the entire testing process, samples were tested with and without the additive to determine effectiveness against other blends, as well as the control samples. All sample results were statistically analyzed for outliers, repeatability and reproducibility.
